2012 One Lunger - 100 Rules

HD  CLASS RULES
Revised 9/6/11

1973 and older, production line model with a single cylinder fan cooled motor.

NO CHANGES, Modification allowed UNLESS specified by these rules.  If these rules do not specifically allow a change or modification, it is assumed that the change or modification is NOT allowed.

Drivers:

  • Must agree to all decisions made by officials, uncontested.
  • Must be 16 years of age or older.
  • NO drug or alcohol use before or during races.
  • Must have a working tether cord and USE it.
  • Must wear a helmet and eye protection.
  • Your brakes must be in WORKING condition.  (will be checked)
  • Winners will be torn down at the end of the day.

Engines:

  • You may substitute any motor in your chassis if it was offered in that brand of sled any year.
  • I E: If it ever came with a Sachs you can run any Sachs single.
  • Engines must remain stock, no grinding, porting, sandblasting, shaving on anything.   Stock pistons or stock replacement, no cutting skirts
  • Must have points style ignition- NO CDI’s.
  • Carb- must be original or other diaphragm carb with 2  15/16 bolt pattern.
  • Clutch- An original, comet 94C Duster or Power Block with no decrease or rotating mass
  • Exhaust and muffler must be stock or stock replacement.  Must be a can muffler and it may be reinforced.  No tuners and no cutting open of the muffler.
  • Engine must have a point style ignition. (no cdi)

Chassis:

  • 1973 and older and may use 1976 and older suspensions.  Chain case and clutches must stay of the same brand of chassis.  Aftermarket shocks are allowed. None Jackshaft Chassis allowed.
  • Skis must be original or stock replacement. No ski skins. Carbine runners and spreaders are allowed.  You may use different manufacture skis but  no Aluminum or aftermarket.
  • Fuel tanks should be original or same size. May use different tank as long as it is 1976 or aftermarket.  Fuel tank must not exceed 5 gallons.
  • You must run a hood- Does not need to be original.
  • NUMBERS must be 8” AND visible on BOTH sides.  (Should be black and white) if we can’t see, we can’t score!
  • Snow flap must touch ice/snow with rider on machine.

Track:

  • Studs can measure up to 1/2” about highest point of your track. Will be checked with gauges.
  • Tracks may be replaced with a new track of the same length.  No light weight tracks.
  • Any seat may be used and any handle bars.
  • You can change clutching springs, weights and gear ratios. You may use Ice Scratchers for your slide suspension.
  • Brakes. May use hydraulic brake setup off of newer sled but must be mounted in stock location.

HR CLASS RULES

  • Engine must have a point style ignition. (no cdi)

  • NO drug or alcohol use before or during races. (Toad)
  • Must have a working tether cord and USE it.
  • Must wear a helmet and eye protection.
  • Your brakes must be in WORKING condition.  (will be checked)
  • Winners may be torn down at the end of the day.

Engines:

  • Motor must meet chassis.
  • Motors not allowed: Yamaha, Kawaski ,Hirth 338, Sachs sa290c, sa290ss, sa290R, sa320,sa340SS, sa340C,  sa340 chrome bore, sa340ss chrome bore, 250 polaris, sa340R, sa368 with HD carb, sa400, JLO 290R/ 340R, Rotax 292 TNT and 340 TNT
  • Engines must remain stock, no grinding, porting, sandblasting, shaving on anything.   Stock pistons or stock replacement, no cutting skirts
  • Must have points style ignition- NO CDI’s.
  • Carb- must be HR size car or smaller.  You can replace an HD carburated motor  with and HR as long as the motor is within the acceptable motors list.  Example- a 69 Panther can run a 368 sachs but the card has to be changed to an HR size.
  • Clutch- An original, comet 94C Duster or Power Block.  Clutches must remain STOCK, no changing to aluminum or lightening any of the stock components of the clutch, besides the normal weights and springs.  No decreasing of rotating mass.
  • Exhaust and muffler must be stock or stock replacement.  Must be a can muffler and it may be reinforced.  No tuners and no cutting open of the muffler.
  • Engine must have a point style ignition. (no cdi)

Chassis:

  • 1973  and older. No limited production or race chassis,  None jackshaft chassis.
  • Skis must be original or stock replacement.  Carbide runners are allowed.
  • Fuel tanks must be original and in original location.
  • You must run a hood must be original.
  • NUMBERS must be 8” AND visible on BOTH sides.  (Should be black and white) if we can’t see, we can’t score!
  • Snow flap must touch ice/snow with rider on machine.

Track:

  • Studs can measure up to 1/2” max at  highest point of your track.  Will be checked with gauge.
  • Track may be replaces with a new track of the same length.  NO Light weight tracks.  Cleated tracks must remain cleated, rubber must remain rubber.
  • Seats and handlebars can be changers. 
  • You may change gear ratio, clutch weights and springs.
  • You may paint sled or use decals to make it look faster.
